Plain-English overview
These terms describe the high-level partnership model. They are not a substitute for a formal agreement. Project-specific responsibilities, revenue share, support expectations, ownership, and termination terms are documented before development begins.
Business model
For revenue-generating apps, the standard model is a 50/50 split of net profits between the client and Xntric Designs. Net profit definitions should account for platform fees, payment processing, infrastructure, agreed operating costs, refunds, taxes, and other app-specific deductions.
Ownership and implementation
The client owns the underlying concept, brand, market insight, and product direction. Xntric Designs owns the implementation and technical assets required to maintain and evolve the app unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Product management
The client acts as product manager, shaping priorities, user needs, direction, and feedback. Xntric Designs advises on UX, feasibility, complexity, technical architecture, App Store expectations, and delivery risk.
Support and maintenance
Xntric Designs provides ongoing updates, bug fixes, improvements, and platform compatibility work. Support-heavy or mission-critical apps may require additional terms for response times, coverage, monitoring, and operational responsibility.
App Store and accounts
Apps are typically published through an Xntric Designs or Xntric LLC developer account for operational simplicity and faster review cycles unless both parties agree on another arrangement.
Companion and business apps
If an app is free to users and creates business value through retention, engagement, lead generation, efficiency, or service quality, the parties will agree on a compensation model that reflects that value.
No guarantee of success
Xntric Designs can design, build, launch, and improve software. Market traction, revenue, downloads, customer adoption, and commercial success cannot be guaranteed. Annoying, but reality remains annoyingly real.
